Guest on INDIE CHICKS Podcast

Today I’d like to celebrate women in the publishing industry.

I’m talking about writers, publishers, editors, narrators. . .you name it. And if you’re not currently published, but you would like to be, or if you are but would like additional help or ideas on things like editing or marketing, a great resource to help with that is the Indie Chicks, created by Melissa Koberlein, author and professor of publishing.

As part of their resource offerings, the Indie Chicks have a podcast, co-hosted by Melissa Koberlein and editor Jeni Chappelle. I was so delighted when the Indie Chicks invited me on their podcast in June to talk about the joys of narrating audiobooks!

In the podcast episode, we discussed advice Melissa and I have about making an audiobook, and dished a bit about the upcoming audiobook for Raven’s Sphere, Melissa’s science fiction adventure novel full of snarky bits.

I hope you can take a listen to the podcast on Narrating Audiobooks. If you’re unable to listen, you can get a shortened version by reading the blog Q&A.

Enjoy!

Featured Narrator: SUCH A VOICE Blog

Let me share a little story.

Way back in 2016, I was searching for something to soothe my inner angst. I didn’t know what exactly was going on at the time, but I thought taking my mind off of the angst with something new but close to my roots (theatre, and acting, of course) would help. So I signed up for a 2 hour “Intro to Voiceover” class hosted by Such a Voice at my local community college (shout out to community colleges!).

Fast forward almost 4 years, and I’m a full-time audiobook narrator being featured on the Such A Voice Talent Spotlight blog, offering advice to others who may want to start a similar journey.

I’m so grateful for everyone who has helped me on the way. This industry is one of the best for lifting people up, offering help, being transparent, and let’s not forget: FUN.

Thank you to Roth Bernstein at Such A Voice for asking me to share my story.

A story, indeed.

Audiobook Release Coming Soon: STOLEN

STOLEN Audiobook Cover

Once again, I am thrilled to be able to tell the story of STOLEN, book 3 in the Whitley and Keal Mystery series, by Dawn Kopman Whidden.

Detectives Jean Whitley and Marty Keal are on a journey to solve a dual mystery: first, find out the circumstances surrounding two shooting victims found in a remote cabin in the woods. And second, solve the mystery of the identity of a small boy who is found wandering in the woods alone and refuses to speak.

Find out if Whitley and Keal discover what actually happened in that cabin and can solve the mystery of the boy’s identity, before another crime takes place in their small town.

Scheduled for release in February 2018, the audiobook version of STOLEN by Dawn Kopman Whidden, narrated by Amy Deuchler will be available exclusively on Amazon, Audible, and iTunes.
